The crew at Great Northern Powder Guides want to share the uniqueness that Montana’s wilderness has to offer. We feel that Montana is unlike any other state in the lower 48 due to its preservation of open wilderness that is accessible to the public and private vendors.
3,788 Vertical Rise
Our custom snowcats can access terrain as high as 7500′ to give you a possible descent up to 3788′.
We lease over 20,000 acres in the beautiful, remote and wild Stillwater State Forest. As part of our lease, a portion of our revenue each year goes directly back into Montana’s Public Schools.
Glades, pillows, chutes, rocks
We boast incredibly varied terrain in our backcountry playground. We have terrain that is perfect for first time Cat skiers/boarders and even first time powder chasers. We also have terrain to satisfy the most experienced guests with steep, treed terrain Montana is famous for.
AVALANCHE BEACONS & TRAINING
Every guest is provided an avalanche beacon and given hands-on experience in the unlikely event a search is necessary. Avalanche packs are not a requirement on our adventures but you are welcome to bring your own.
All trips are fully guided with a Lead Guide, Tail Guide and a Photographer along on at least a portion of your day.
