Booking & Cancellation Policy

When you book with Great Northern Powder Guides (“GNPG”), you are securing an unforgettable adventure in the mountains. By reserving, you agree to the below Terms & Conditions on behalf of yourself and anyone joining you. If you’re booking for others, these terms will apply to them as well.

To hold your spot, we ask for a 50% deposit at the time of booking. Once received, your adventure is officially reserved.
The balance is due 60 days before your trip. We’ll send you a reminder well in advance so it’s easy to stay on track.
For trips booked within 60 days of your start date, full payment is required at the time of booking.
Because space is limited and our trips fill quickly, all payments are non-refundable. Priority is given to the group who secure their date with a deposit first.
If the final balance isn’t received by the deadline, we’ll assume your plans have changed and release your reservation.
Please note: A signed waiver is required for participation. Declining or not completing the waiver does not qualify for a refund.

Backcountry skiing is a true wilderness experience, and with that comes the unpredictability of weather and natural conditions. While it’s uncommon for conditions to stop us from operating, please understand that GNPG cannot control the weather or natural events. Because of this, all reservations are non-refundable. This includes situations such as travel delays, weather changes, or snow conditions that may not meet personal expectations.
We truly want every guest to have the best possible experience, and our team will always do everything we can to adapt and make the most of the conditions Mother Nature provides.

Backcountry cat skiing is an exciting, physically demanding adventure. To make the most of your trip, guests should be in strong physical condition, be confident skiers and accustomed to skiing or riding full days in variable terrain.
Our goal is for everyone to have a safe and enjoyable experience. If at any point a guest becomes overly fatigued or finds the terrain beyond their comfort level, our guides may recommend resting in the snowcat or taking a break for the day. This helps ensure your safety and keeps the group’s adventure running smoothly.
Please note that refunds or credits are not available in these situations, so we encourage all guests to accurately assess their fitness and ability when booking. Our team is always happy to answer questions and help you determine if this adventure is the right fit for you.

To help ensure a safe and enjoyable adventure for everyone, we require each guest to complete the online waiver before your trip. This simple step lets you focus on the fun while we take care of the rest.
Signed waivers are required, guests who do not complete and sign the waiver will not be permitted to participate.
Guests under 19 years of age will require parents and/or guardian signature.
By signing, you acknowledge the risks associated with backcountry skiing/snowboarding and waive certain legal rights, including the right to sue for negligence.

Your safety and comfort are our top priorities, and we want your adventure with us to be as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Please keep the following in mind:
Late Arrivals & Early Departures: To make the most of your experience, we encourage advanced planning and preparation.  If you’re flying, be sure to secure your flights well in advance, and if you’re traveling by car, please check weather and road conditions before your trip. While we’re unable to offer refunds or credits for late arrivals or early departures, our team will do everything possible to help you make the most of your time here.
Health & Illness: If a guest feels unwell during their stay, our guides may suggest resting in your room or taking a break from group activities to ensure your safety and the well-being of others. While refunds aren’t available for trips shortened by illness, we’re happy to provide documentation to help with insurance claims.
Our goal is to make sure every guest feels supported, cared for, and able to enjoy their adventure, no matter what comes up.

To help protect your trip investment and give you peace of mind, we strongly recommend purchasing Trip Cancellation or Interruption Insurance. Coverage details can vary, so please check with your provider to find the plan that’s right for you.
Please note that certain events, such as avalanche-related closures, civil authority restrictions, or poor snow conditions, may not be covered by insurance and are not refundable by GNPG. Having insurance helps ensure you’re prepared for unexpected changes and can enjoy your adventure with confidence.
